In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

1. After five minutes of Day by the Nights,
2. by the odd and even (opposed);
3. And when it goes dark at night, is there not evidence or affirmation there for those who understand?
4. Hast thou not observed how your Lord dealt with the Ad people of the city of Iram by building high pillars that were unlike anything else in the land?
5. And with Pharaoh, lord of stakes, and the Thamud (people), who dug huge rocks into the valley?
6. All of these went beyond the boundaries of the land and spread mischief thereon.
7. Because of this, your Lord poured out on them a plague of various punishments:
8. As a guardian, thy Lord is perched atop a watchtower.
9. Presently, with respect to man, when his Master trieth him, offering him honor and gifts, then, at that point, saith he, (puffed up), "My Ruler hath regarded me."
10. Yet, when He trieth him, confining his resource for him, then, at that point, saith he (hopelessly), "My Ruler hath embarrassed me!"
11. No, no, no! But you do not honor the abandoned!
12. You also don't encourage one another to feed the hungry, and you take advantage of inheritances and love wealth excessively!
13. Nay! When the earth is ground to a halt, when your Lord appears with His angels in ascending order, and when Hell is confronted, man will remember, but how will that memory serve him?
14. He'll say, " Ah! It would have been nice if I had done good deeds for the rest of my life.
15. Because on that day, His punishment will be unlike anything else's, and His bonds will be unlike anything else's.
16. (To the noble soul will be said:) " O soul, in complete relaxation and contentment!
17. “Return to thy Lord, being content with yourself and pleasing Him!
18. “Now, enter thou among My followers!
19. "Yes, come into My Heaven!

English transliteration of Surah Fajr in the name of Allah, the Most Merciful.

1. After five minutes of Day by the Nights,
2. by the odd and even (opposed);
3. And when it goes dark at night, is there not evidence or affirmation there for those who understand?
4. Hast thou not observed how your Lord dealt with the Ad people of the city of Iram by building high pillars that were unlike anything else in the land?
5. Furthermore, with the Thamud (individuals), who cut out (colossal) rocks in the valley?-
6. Furthermore, with Pharaoh, ruler of stakes?
7. All of these went beyond the boundaries of the land and spread mischief thereon.
8. Because of this, your Lord poured out on them a plague of various punishments:
9. For thy Ruler is (as a Gatekeeper) on a watch-tower.
10. Now, the human being says, "My Lord hath honoured me" when his Lord treats him and gives him gifts and honor.
11. But when He treats him, limiting his means of subsistence for him, he says, "My Lord hath humiliated me!" in despair.
12. Nay, nay! But you do not honor the abandoned!
13. You also don't encourage one another to feed the hungry, and you take advantage of inheritances and love wealth excessively!
14. Nay! When the earth is ground to a halt, when your Lord appears with His angels in ascending order, and when Hell is confronted, man will remember, but how will that memory serve him?
15. He'll say, " Ah! Would that I had sent forward (great deeds) for (this) my (Future) Life!"
16. For, that Day, His Reprimand will be like none (else) can cause,
17. Furthermore, His bonds will be like none (other) can tie.
18. (The soul who is righteous will hear:) O soul, in complete relaxation and contentment!
19. “Return to thy Lord, being content with yourself and pleasing Him!
20. “Now, enter thou among My followers!
21. "Yes, come into My Heaven!

Surah Fajr Arabic

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

1. وَالْفَجْرِ

2. وَلَيَالٍ عَشْرٍ

3. وَالشَّفْعِ وَالْوَتْرِ

4. وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَسْرِ

5. هَلْ فِي ذَٰلِكَ قَسَمٌ لِذِي حِجْرٍ

6. أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِعَادٍ

7. إِرَمَ ذَاتِ الْعِمَادِ

8. الَّتِي لَمْ يُخْلَقْ مِثْلُهَا فِي الْبِلَادِ

9. وَثَمُودَ الَّذِينَ جَابُوا الصَّخْرَ بِالْوَادِ

10. وَفِرْعَوْنَ ذِي الْأَوْتَادِ

11. الَّذِينَ طَغَوْا فِي الْبِلَادِ

12. فَأَكْثَرُوا فِيهَا الْفَسَادَ

13. فَصَبَّ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّكَ سَوْطَ عَذَابٍ

14. إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَبِالْمِرْصَادِ

15. فَأَمَّا الْإِنْسَانُ إِذَا مَا ابْتَلَاهُ رَبُّهُ فَأَكْرَمَهُ وَنَعَّمَهُ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّي أَكْرَمَنِ

16. وَأَمَّا إِذَا مَا ابْتَلَاهُ فَقَدَرَ عَلَيْهِ رِزْقَهُ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّي أَهَانَنِ

17. كَلَّا ۖ بَلْ لَا تُكْرِمُونَ الْيَتِيمَ

18. وَلَا تَحَاضُّونَ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ الْمِسْكِينِ

19. وَتَأْكُلُونَ التُّرَاثَ أَكْلًا لَمًّا

20. وَتُحِبُّونَ الْمَالَ حُبًّا جَمًّا

21. كَلَّا إِذَا دُكَّتِ الْأَرْضُ دَكًّا دَكًّا

22. وَجَاءَ رَبُّكَ وَالْمَلَكُ صَفًّا صَفًّا

23. وَجِيءَ يَوْمَئِذٍ بِجَهَنَّمَ ۚ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَتَذَكَّرُ الْإِنْسَانُ وَأَنَّىٰ لَهُ الذِّكْرَىٰ

24. يَقُولُ يَا لَيْتَنِي قَدَّمْتُ لِحَيَاتِي

25. فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَا يُعَذِّبُ عَذَابَهُ أَحَدٌ

26. وَلَا يُوثِقُ وَثَاقَهُ أَحَدٌ

27. يَا أَيَّتُهَا النَّفْسُ الْمُطْمَئِنَّةُ

28. ارْجِعِي إِلَىٰ رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةً مَرْضِيَّةً

29. فَادْخُلِي فِي عِبَادِي

30. وَادْخُلِي جَنَّتِي
